This is a picture of Buster, an Eastern Box turtle, and one of three turtles which I have adopted. I adopted Buster in 1999 from Colorado Herpetological Society and after his initial checkup with my turtle vet Dr. Suzanne Barnes in Eagle, she discovered he was diabetic. Buster has become a research project for Dr. Barnes since so little is known about diabetic reptiles. Teddy, an Ornate Box turtle was adopted from the Colorado Reptile Humane Society in 2000 and Taz, an Ornate Box turtle was given to me in 2004 based on a referral from the Pet Spot store in Edwards. I have learned much from turtles and highly recommend reading about them in my links. I have received many calls over the last several years and have referred them to the links below. This is a picture of Wags who was fostered through Colorado Basset Rescue and eventually adopted in August 2005. Wags was a "feral" basset for about a year in Turkey Creek Canyon outside of Denver. After losing our first Basset who was adopted from Eagle County Humane Society we started fostering for Colorado Basset Rescue. We also adopted our former Beagle from Eagle County Humane Society. All my dogs have been adopted through the Eagle County Humane Society or Colorado Basset Rescue.
